Alchemy is a term for the process of change and transmutation from base metals into gold. Spiritual alchemy in a similar way means transformation of the individual on all levels, body mind and spirit. What are chakras?

Chakras are the subtle energy centres, or power points of the body of the body. The word 'chakra' is derived from a Sanskrit word meaning 'w heel.' A more concise translation would be spinning wheel. If you could see your chakra's, and some individuals can, you would to see each primary chakra as a spinning vortex or wheel of energy; spinning inward, like a vortex and then spinning outward from the same point on your back. Each chakra has a different frequency of vibration, symbol, colour, and sound.

Each chakra relates strongly to a specific part of the body, specific emotions, mental, and spiritual.

Where are they located?

The chakras start at the base of the spine and go up through to the crown of the head. There are seven primary chakra points with about a hundred smaller secondary chakras. The smaller chakra points are called meridians and these are utilized during acupuncture. The secondary chakra points are related to action and physicality while the seven primary chakras deal with emotions and spirituality. Any in-balance in any of the chakras from an emotional or spiritual cause can manifest as an illness in the physical.

When a chakra is balanced, and energized, it has a unique vibration, for that particular chakra. Many things can effect these specific vibrations including sounds of voice, drums, music, chants, mantras, and the vibrational energy of colour. By utilizing specific sounds and colours of the chakras, you will become more aligned and balanced. The colours of the chakras are that of the rainbow; starting at the root chakra black/red, orange, yellow, green/pink, light blue, indigo, and violet/white for the seventh chakra.

How will activating my chakras assist my spiritual growth?

Each chakra needs to be able to function at the correct frequency independently. Each needs to be balanced, clear, energized, and properly spinning. Each time all the chakras reach a level of unison the entire physical vibration of the human body is raised.
